We are a certified 501(c)3 non-profit founded in 2008 by Thrinicko Beaboa, while a student at a university in Cape Town, South Africa. Native to Paris, France, Thrinicko saw a need to serve the community in South Africa. Now a resident in the US, Thrinicko established the LA County branch of africActive in 2020 to address the growing need for food security in low-income and underserved communities due to the pandemic.
Part of the africActive Network that spans the world, we transform lives and communities by offering free resources and services that address immediate and long-term needs - all while providing a fun, supportive, and non-demeaning environment.
